Applicants must meet and maintain the following minimum standards:

• Minimum age 14 (by the start of the academy)
• Good community record (Pass a background check)
• Good physical health- (PT test standards will be sent prior to testing)
• Minimum 2.3 GPA (1 failing class)
• Willing to attend and complete the basic SAR training
• Minimum 2-year commitment as an active explorer

Rescue 101 SAR will provide the majority of the gear you need to get started—just bring your enthusiasm and willingness to learn! As an Explorer, you’ll attend trainings, participate in simulated missions, and have the chance to assist in real-world scenarios.
