The ASHI Basic First Aid course helps students develop basic first aid knowledge, skills, and the confidence to respond. This first aid training program is an excellent choice for both the community and workplace setting and conforms to the 2015 AHA, and ARC Guidelines Update for First Aid.

Designed for non-EMS responders including government, corporate, industry, lifeguards, security personnel, law enforcement, corrections personnel, and other individuals who are not EMS or healthcare providers but desire or require certification in Advanced First Aid training.

Wilderness environments create special situations not usually encountered in an urban or suburban environment. With an ASHI Wilderness First Aid class, first aid providers in a remote outdoor setting will be better prepared to respond when faced with limited resources, longer times to care for someone, and decisions about when and how fast to evacuate an ill or injured person.

American Safety & Health Institute’s Advanced Bleeding Control is designed to provide detailed information on the control of severe external bleeding, including the use of direct pressure, commercial pressure bandages, tourniquets and packed dressings.

 ASHI's Bloodborne Pathogens training program includes information that will help students understand what bloodborne pathogens are and how risks of exposure can be reduced for themselves and others. This bloodborne pathogens certification course assists in satisfying the training requirements of the U.S. Department of Labor, OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Standard (29 CFR 1910.1030).

Serious and life-threatening medical emergencies often cause oxygen to be depleted in the body leaving the victim at risk for shock. ASHI Emergency Oxygen program focuses on administering emergency oxygen to breathing and non-breathing persons, emergency oxygen delivery systems and integrating pulse oximetry.

ASHI's CPR and AED training course is designed specifically for laypeople, and is an excellent choice for CPR and defibrillator training in both community and workplace settings. This extremely flexible program will help prepare individuals to respond to sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) and choking incidents. This CPR and AED course conforms to the 2015 AHA Guidelines Update for CPR and ECC.

This course trains healthcare providers and professional responders how to recognize a life-threatening emergency, how to provide basic life support, and what to do in case of an airway obstruction or choking.

The program is designed to provide non-EMS responders, including government, corporate, law enforcement, and corrections personnel,  more depth and exposure to standard first aid training topics to provide richer and more advanced training. It meets and exceeds workplace first aid training requirements and satisfies the desire to learn more than just basic first aid without the burden associated with EMS provider training and certification.

Whether you’re an entrepreneur looking to start your own emergency care training business or the newly designated training coordinator at your company or agency, the ASHI and MEDIC First Aid Instructor Development Course (IDC) is an effective way to do both. Using a blended training approach, the IDC combines an initial online learning session to develop cognitive understanding, followed by a single-day, in-person classroom session for practicing instructional skills.

Prepare for the unexpected with this engaging, hands-on introduction to wilderness medicine, taught over two or two and a half days. If you like to take short trips relatively close to medical resources, work at wilderness camps, enjoy weekend family outdoor activities, or recreate outdoors, this course is for you.

This course is great for people of all experience levels, and is best suited for those who recreate outdoors where EMS response can be expected in a timely manner.

If you work or recreate in the outdoors or in other austere environments Where medical care is delayed or communication is unreliable, this course is for you! 

Upon completion, you will be able to conduct a thorough physical exam, obtain a patient history, assess vital signs, provide emergency care in the wilderness, and make crucial evacuation decisions.

You'll learn both in the classroom and in outdoor settings regardless of weather, so come prepared for wet, muddy, cold, or hot environments!

Hug-a-Tree and Survive is a program that helps lost children survive in the woods. It teaches children how not to become lost in the woods, and what to do should they become lost.

If a child should become lost in the woods, hugging a tree can help them stay safe, and be found. Staying near a tree offers some protection from the elements, and keeps lost children in the same place, which makes it easier for searchers to find them.

 AVERT combines active shooter and bleeding control training to give you and your team the skills you need in almost any emergency situation. With AVERT training, you'll learn under realistic circumstances how to recognize the signs of danger, react appropriately, and make rapid decisions that will increase your chances of survival.  

Through our STOP THE BLEED® course, you’ll gain the ability to recognize life-threatening bleeding and intervene effectively. Those who complete EM 385-1-1 Fall Protection training have the knowledge and skills to assess worksites, develop safe work plans, and identify and correct any problems on-site. The training includes building a Fall Protection and Prevention Plan, which is a high-level plan put in place before projects begin, and acts as a roadmap for workers to follow.
